Bill Self was one of America's most renowned and wealthiest basketball players. Bill Self was born on on December 27, 1962 in Okmulgee. Self was born and raised in the town of Okmulgee in the area where his father was a coach for girls at Morris High School nearby. Self was awarded a scholarship to play basketball, which allowed him to attend Oklahoma State University. He earned the honor of being a letter-winner throughout the four seasons that he played. Bill was a graduate of Oklahoma State with both a Bachelor's degree in business in the year 1985, and then a master's in Athletic Administration at the age of 1989.
