Laura Linney has been hailed as one of the most well-known actors. Linney is renowned for playing strong characters that are also at risk. Born to a famous playwright father, but was raised by a single mom who made a living by working as a nurse. She became interested in theatre while having summers spent with her father, eventually studying acting, initially at Brown University and then at Juilliard School. Starting her acting career on the Broadway following her graduation, she appeared in films within two years. She also appeared on TV in the year after. In the years since, she's performed in many films and TV and stage productions. There were many awards she received throughout her career such as several Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. In spite of the array of awards the theatre is still her primary passion and she has continued to appear both in stage and screen.
